Open an event’s Emails tab to view newsletters and automated emails for that event, filter by status, preview sends, edit or reschedule newsletters, and cancel or reschedule automated sends.
The event Emails tab lists email communications for one event — chapter newsletters tied to that event and, on many communities, automated emails Bevy scheduled for it. Use this tab to review status and metrics, preview a send, change timing, or cancel a send you no longer need.
- Emails tab — Chapter Dashboard → Events → open the event → Emails.
- Newsletter — a one-time email an organizer writes; you can edit, schedule, send now, or cancel it when your permissions allow.
- Automated — a marketing email HQ configured; on this tab you can usually preview, reschedule, or cancel a scheduled send, not rewrite the template.
Note: This tab does not create new emails. To write a newsletter for an event, open Chapter Dashboard → Emails → New email, select an audience that requires an event, then choose the event. See Send a chapter newsletter.
Open the Emails tab
- In the Chapter Dashboard, select Events in the left sidebar.
- Open the event you want to manage. The dashboard opens on Overview by default.
- Select Emails in the event navigation.
You can also open View all from the Upcoming emails section on Overview when that section is shown. For the rest of the Event Dashboard tabs, see Manage and edit an event.
Note: The Emails tab appears for the hosting chapter. On a cohosted event, collaborating chapters may only see Registrations and will not have this tab.
Read the email list
Each email appears as a card. A card can show:
- Subject (for newsletters) or the automated email title
- Type: Newsletter or Automated
- Status: Draft, Scheduled, or Sent (other labels such as canceled or dropped can appear when a send did not go out)
- Scheduled or sent date and time, or Not sent yet
- Audience name
- Metrics when available: Delivered, Unique opens, Unique clicks, and Unsubscribed
Use the Status filter at the top to narrow the list:
- All — every status
- Sent
- Scheduled
- Draft
If nothing matches the filter, the page shows No matching emails found.
Tip: Some communities show only newsletters on this list. If you expected an automated reminder or post-event email and it is missing, check with your administrator that the automated email is enabled, then republish the event if needed. For types of event emails and dropped-status meanings, see Event emails.
Preview, edit, reschedule, or cancel
Actions appear on each card when they are available for that email and your permissions.
| Action | Newsletters | Automated emails |
|---|---|---|
| Preview | Opens the message in a new tab when a preview link is available | Same |
| Edit | Opens the chapter email editor for draft or scheduled newsletters you can edit | Not available — organizers do not edit the automated template from this tab |
| Schedule / Reschedule | Pick a future date and time, or choose Send this email immediately and Send now | Pick a new date and time only (no send-immediately option) |
| Cancel | Stops a draft or scheduled newsletter; confirm in the Delete email dialog | Stops a scheduled automated send when cancel is available; confirm in the same dialog |
Preview
- Find the email card.
- Select Preview to open the message in a new browser tab.
Edit a newsletter
- On a draft or scheduled newsletter you can edit, select Edit.
- Bevy opens the chapter email editor. Update the subject, audience, event, message, or schedule as needed.
- Save a draft, send a test, preview, then schedule or send from the editor. Full composer steps are in Send a chapter newsletter.
Reschedule or send now
- On the email card, select Reschedule (scheduled) or Schedule (draft newsletter).
- In Reschedule email:
- For a newsletter, choose Schedule this email for a future date and pick the date and time, or choose Send this email immediately.
- For an automated email, pick a new date and time only.
- Select Schedule or Send now.
Cancel a send
- On the email card, select Cancel.
- Confirm in the Delete email dialog by selecting OK. Select Cancel in the dialog if you want to keep the send.
Canceling stops that scheduled or draft send. It does not delete the event, remove attendees, or turn off the automated email template for future events.
Important: The button on the card is labeled Cancel. The confirmation dialog is titled Delete email. Confirm only if you mean to stop that send.
What this tab does not include
- New email — create newsletters from Chapter Dashboard → Emails, not from the event tab.
- System emails — transactional messages such as ticket confirmations do not appear here. To resend a ticket email for one registrant, use Resend event email on the Registrations tab.
- Automated template editing — HQ manages templates under Admin Dashboard → Emails → Automated emails. See Automated emails.
- Dropped-status reference — why a send shows as dropped lives in Event emails.
