This article explains how to manage emails at the event level.
About event emails
After you publish an event, you can create new emails that reference the event (also known as a newsletters).
Additionally, some emails are automatically scheduled based on the settings from within the Admin Dashboard. For example, a 48-hour event reminder may be automatically scheduled for your new event based on the event start time.
At the chapter level, you can cancel or reschedule any emails that were automatically scheduled for an event.
If you expected to see an email scheduled with your event after publishing and it did not get added, you may need to contact your Administrator to ensure it is enabled. Once the email gets enabled, you may need to re-publish your event in order to see the new email.
Cancel an email
To cancel an email:
- From the Chapter Dashboard, select Events in the left-hand sidebar menu.
- Select the event to cancel the email for.
- On the Emails tab, click the X to cancel a specific email.
- Click OK to confirm the change.
Reschedule an email
To reschedule an email:
- From the Chapter Dashboard, select Events in the left-hand sidebar menu.
- Select the event to reschedule the email for.
- To reschedule a particular email, click the clock icon next to the email title.
- Set the date and time accordingly.
- Click Reschedule and confirm the change.
- Repeat steps 4-6 for each email you want rescheduled.
What does a dropped email mean?
You may see the label "dropped" next to an email. Emails may drop for the following reasons:
- Dropped - event not live: An event was canceled before the start time (e.g., the post-event survey email will no longer go out for an event that was never live).
- Dropped - event is hidden: An event was published as "hidden" and did not have the Allow Automated Emails When Hidden check box selected (e.g., you don't want automated email for a test event).
- Dropped - bad schedule: An event was published with a start time that conflicted with the triggers of the related email (e.g., the 48-hour reminder email will no longer go out for an event that was just published with a start time of today).
- Dropped - task timed out: An event was published without necessary details required by the email.
