Open Events in the Chapter Dashboard to see this chapter's events and start a new one. New event asks you to choose an event type, then opens the editor. After the event, Recordings holds the files and any transcript, and Analytics shows how it performed.
Use Events when you want the list for the chapter you have open, or when you want to start an event from that list.
| Question | Open | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| How do I create an event for this chapter? | Chapter Dashboard → Events → New event | Choose an event type, then finish the event in the editor. Steps are in Create and configure events. |
| How do I change an event that already exists? | Events, then Edit on that event | The Event Dashboard for that event. See Manage and edit an event. |
| Where do create, promotion, and wrap-up fit together? | Start here: create and run an event | The path from a new event through the public page, tickets, and wrap-up. |
| Where are the recording and the transcript? | Open the event, then Recordings | Session and stage files, plus a transcript or summary when your community has them. See Manage event recordings. To turn on live transcription during a Bevy Virtual Meetup, see Use transcriptions and closed captions in Bevy Virtual Meetup. |
| How do I share a recording as video on demand? | When Video on Demand is enabled: Recordings → Send to Media Library | The recording can become a video people watch later. See About Video On Demand (VOD). If you do not see Media Library in the chapter sidebar, or a Media tab on the event, Video on Demand is not enabled for your community. |
| How did this event perform? | Open the published event, then Analytics | Registration and attendance for that event. See Review event analytics. Metric detail is in Event Analytics. |
Note: New event appears when your chapter team role can add events. HQ chooses the role names. If you do not see New event, ask a chapter team member who assigns roles. See Who can create, edit, and check in for events.
Open the event list
- Open the Chapter Dashboard for the chapter.
- In the left navigation, select Events.
- Wait for the page to load. The title is Events: followed by the chapter name.
You can also select New event on Home, next to Upcoming events (or Events when the chapter has no upcoming events). See Get started in the Chapter Dashboard.
Tip: For the fields in the editor, see Create and configure events. After the event exists, see Manage and edit an event. For the full path, see Start here: create and run an event.
What you will see
The status menu lists All events, Upcoming, Draft, Completed, and Canceled, each with a count. Show hidden is on until you turn it off. Show test is off until you turn it on. Each event shows its name and start date, plus actions for that event. If the chapter has no events yet, the page says that none have been created.
Note: Events stays in the left navigation. New event is the control that depends on your role.
