After you publish an event, open Analytics on the Event Dashboard to review registration and attendance for that event. Hybrid and virtual events can also show online engagement. Use this page to find the right dashboard — the Event Analytics article covers metrics in detail.
Organizers often look for analytics under Creating & Running Events. The full metric guide lives in Measuring Performance as Event Analytics. This page is the organizer entry point: when to open which dashboard, how to get there from the Event Dashboard, and what to check after check-in or wrap-up.
| Question | Open | Why |
|---|---|---|
| How is this event performing? | Event Dashboard → Analytics | Registration, attendance, and (for hybrid/virtual) engagement for one event |
| How are all events in my chapter doing? | Chapter Dashboard → Analytics → Events tab | Chapter-level event performance — see Chapter Analytics |
| Who joined which virtual session, and for how long? | Admin Report Center (virtual engagement reports) | Attendee- and session-level detail beyond the event dashboard overview |
Note: The Analytics tab on an event appears only after the event is published. Draft events do not show Analytics. If you do not see the tab on a published event, ask a chapter team member who can assign roles whether your role includes access to event analytics.
Open Analytics for one event
- In the Chapter Dashboard, select Events, then open the published event you manage.
- In the event tab row, select Analytics.
- Review the dashboard for that event. Exact tiles depend on the event format and which online features were used.
For opening the Event Dashboard and other tabs (Details, Registrations, Wrap up), see Manage and edit an event.
Tip: For KPI tiles, filters, drill-downs, downloads, and virtual engagement reports in Report Center, use Event Analytics. This page does not repeat those steps.
What you can review on the event dashboard
| Metric group | When you see it | What it helps you answer |
|---|---|---|
| Registration | Every published event | How many people registered, when they registered, and ticket availability |
| Attendance | Every published event | Who showed up vs who registered — check-in state feeds these numbers |
| Virtual engagement | Hybrid or virtual events | Participation in sessions, stages, booths, and networking (when used) |
| Questions and answers | When Q&A was used | Questions asked, votes, answers, and response timing for supported virtual experiences |
Attendance numbers reflect check-in. If counts look wrong after the door or a virtual session, confirm check-in in Check in attendees, then return to Analytics.
After the event
- Finish day-of check-in so attendance metrics are complete.
- Open Analytics on the same event to review registration vs attendance (and virtual engagement when relevant).
- Use Wrap up an event for featured video, Slideshare, and photos on the past event page — that is separate from Analytics.
- For chapter-wide event trends, open chapter Analytics and the Events tab (Chapter Analytics).
Important: Detailed virtual participation reports (attendee join/exit times, session engagement minutes) live in Admin Report Center, not only on the event Analytics tab. Chapter organizers may need an HQ admin to run or share those reports — see Event Analytics for the report names.
