Adjust your camera, video, and background effects

Choose your video and screen-share quality and add a background effect while your camera is on in Bevy Virtual Conference.

These settings are available when you are in presenter mode.If you don't see them, ask a host or moderator to enable Presenter Mode.

Set your video quality

Video quality controls how sharp your webcam video looks to others. Higher quality looks better but uses more bandwidth. Choose the option that fits your connection:

  • Default—selects a quality level automatically based on your device and network. A good starting point for most people.
  • Quality Optimized—prioritizes the highest resolution and detail. Use this on a strong, stable connection.
  • Balanced—mixes quality and performance, and adapts to minor changes in your connection.
  • Bandwidth Optimized—reduces quality for a smooth, stable stream on slower connections. Use this if your video lags or freezes.

Set your screen share quality

Screen share quality controls how shared content looks. Choose based on what you are sharing:

  • Default — automatic balance of motion and detail.
  • Detail Optimized — sharpness and clarity. Use it for documents, code, slides, and detailed graphics.
  • Motion & Detail Balanced — a compromise for presentations that include some video or animation.
  • Motion Optimized — high frame rate. Use it for video or high-motion animation.

You can also set Max Screenshare Height (the maximum vertical resolution in pixels). Use 1080 or 1440 for standard slides and images; reserve 2160 (4K) for highly detailed content, and only when your computer and connection can support it. Higher values use more bandwidth and CPU — lower this if performance slows.

Apply a background effect

You can add an effect to your background while your camera is on.

Background effects are currently supported on desktop Firefox and Chromium-based browsers, such as Chrome, Edge, and Brave. Use the latest version of your browser.

To apply a background effect:

  1. Enter Presenter Mode.
  2. In the menu bar, select Effect.
  3. Choose the effect to apply.
