Use Emails in the Chapter Dashboard when you want to reach people in the chapter you have open. Pick the surface that matches the question, then use Send a chapter newsletter to write, test, and send.
| Question | Open | What you get |
|---|---|---|
| I need to email this chapter. | Chapter Dashboard → Emails | The chapter email list, plus New email. Writing, testing, and sending are in Send a chapter newsletter. |
| I need emails for one event. | That event → Emails | Newsletters and automated emails tied to that event. See Use the event Emails tab. That tab does not create a new email. |
| Which kind of email should I send? | Understanding Bevy email types | How a chapter newsletter differs from a global newsletter, an automated email, and a system email. |
| I need one email for the whole community. | Ask a community administrator | Only a role with Add global newsletter can create a global newsletter. That permission is for admins. Their steps are in Send a global email. |
Note: New email starts a newsletter you write. If you cannot save or send it, ask a chapter team member who assigns roles whether your role includes Add newsletter.
Open chapter emails
- Open the Chapter Dashboard for the chapter you want to email.
- In the left navigation, select Emails.
- Wait for the page to load. The title is Emails: followed by the chapter name.
For the other areas on this dashboard, see Get started in the Chapter Dashboard.
Tip: For audience, subject, test sends, preview, and schedule, see Send a chapter newsletter.
What you will see
The page lists emails for the chapter. New email starts a newsletter. Filter by Status: All, Sent, Scheduled, or Draft. When the chapter has events, a second filter starts at Events: All. Choose one event to limit the list to emails for that event.
Each email is a card. The card shows a status (Draft, Scheduled, or Sent), a date (or Not sent yet), the audience, and Newsletter or Automated. When the list is newsletters only, Automated does not appear. If nothing matches the filters, the page says No matching emails found.
Note: Automated and system emails are set up by your headquarters team. To compare those with a chapter newsletter, see Understanding Bevy email types.
