On an event’s Surveys tab, edit Registration questions that attendees answer during RSVP or ticket purchase, and Post event questions for after the event. Locked global fields stay locked unless you have admin access. Saved changes apply to new submissions only.
Registration questions (called the pre-order survey in older docs) appear when someone RSVPs or buys a ticket. You customize them on the event Surveys tab in the Chapter Dashboard — not in the Admin Dashboard Forms list. For survey types and when each opens, see About event surveys. For sharing Post event team links and full Responses workflows across all survey types, see Manage event surveys.
| Surface | Who uses it | What it controls |
|---|---|---|
| Admin Dashboard → Forms | Community admins | Default questions for new events (global forms). Edits apply to events created after you save — not to existing events. See Manage global forms. |
| Event → Surveys | Chapter organizers and admins with survey permission | This event’s copy of Registration, Post event, and (when enabled) Post event team questions. Use this path for per-event customization. |
Note: Your community may not show every survey type on the Surveys tab. Contact Bevy Support or your Customer Success Manager if Registration or Post event is missing.
Open registration questions
- In the Chapter Dashboard, open Events and select the event.
- Select Surveys in the event navigation.
- On the Registration card, select Edit.
You need chapter permission to view event surveys. Editing questions and opening Responses can require additional survey permissions. Cohosted events where your chapter is not the host may not show the Surveys tab.
Add or edit questions
- To add a question, select a question type chip (for example Short answer, Paragraph, Dropdown, Multiple choice, Checkbox, Radio button, Email, Number, URL, or a text snippet).
- Enter the question text. For choice questions, add the answer options.
- Set Required, Prefill, and Locked when those toggles appear for the field.
- Select Save. Select Cancel to leave without saving.
There is no separate Publish step for survey edits — Save persists the questions for this event.
| Setting | What it does |
|---|---|
| Required | The person must answer before they can submit (not available on text snippet fields). |
| Prefill | When someone answered the same question before, Bevy can load their last answer so they can confirm or update it (not available on text snippet fields). |
| Locked | Prevents organizers without admin access from editing or removing the question. Admins (and users with permission to change locked fields) can still update locked questions. Global defaults often arrive locked. |
Important: Saved changes apply to people who have not submitted yet. Existing responses keep the answers collected under the previous questions. Questions copied from a global form can arrive Locked — organizers without admin access cannot change or remove those fields. Admins manage community defaults in Manage global forms.
Tip: Do not add questions for data Bevy already stores with registration (name, email, city, state, country, region, chapter and event identifiers, user ID, attendee ID, responded date, and entry ID). Keep the form short so more people finish it. For how questions copy to new events, see Forms FAQs.
Customize post-event questions
- On the Surveys tab, open the Post event card and select Edit.
- Add or change questions the same way as Registration, then select Save.
Attendees usually reach the post-event survey through an automated email with a personal link. They must be signed in with the same account they used to register. Configuring that email is a separate task — see Configure a post event survey email. For Post event team questions and the copy-link share path, see Manage event surveys.
View responses
- On the Surveys tab, select Responses on the Registration or Post event card.
- Review the table, or select Download responses for a CSV export when that action is available.
Chapter team members see responses for that event. Admins can also review submissions across chapters from the Admin Dashboard Forms tools — see Manage global forms.
Note: Viewing names and emails on responses can require a separate personally identifiable information (PII) permission for that survey type. Without it, you can still see answers, but identifying fields stay masked. PII access is configured per form (for example Registration vs Post event).
