On communities that use single sign-on (SSO), sign in with your organization or social account instead of a Bevy-only password. Use the SSO button when it appears—or follow the automatic redirect—and change forgotten passwords at your identity provider, not on Bevy’s Reset password page.
Single sign-on (SSO) lets you open a Bevy community with an account you already use elsewhere — for example your company login, Okta, Auth0, Google, or another provider your community enables. After you authenticate with that provider, Bevy signs you in. You still use the community the same way after login (RSVP for events, join chapters, and manage your profile).
This page is for members and attendees. It does not cover how admins configure SSO. For provider setup, see About single sign-on (SSO).
| What you see on Login | How you sign in | Passwords |
|---|---|---|
| You leave the community site right away and land on your company or identity-provider sign-in page | Your community requires SSO. Complete sign-in at the identity provider. Bevy does not show an email and password form. | Manage your password at the identity provider (your company SSO, Okta, Google Workspace, and similar). Do not use Bevy Reset password for that SSO password. |
| Login shows email and password plus one or more SSO or social buttons, often separated by or | SSO is optional. Choose the SSO or social button for your account, or use email and password if your community still offers it. | If you normally use SSO, reset that password at the provider. Use Bevy Reset password only when you sign in with a Bevy email and password. |
Note: Button labels vary by community. You might see Continue with…, Sign in with…, Sign up with…, Login with…, or a custom label such as your company name. Use the SSO or social button that matches your organization or provider — even if the wording says Sign up on the Login page.
Before you start
- Open the community site where you need an account (each community has its own login).
- Know which email your organization or social provider uses for this community.
- If your company issued SSO credentials, have that username or email and password ready at the identity provider — not a separate Bevy password.
Sign in when SSO is required
Some communities send every visitor straight to the company or identity-provider sign-in page. You do not choose between Bevy password and SSO.
- On the community site, select Log In (or open the Login page).
- Wait for the redirect to your organization’s sign-in page. Some communities show a short intermediate page before the provider.
- Sign in with your organization or provider credentials.
- Approve access if the provider asks, then return to the community. You should land signed in (or on the page you were trying to open).
Tip: If you cancel at the identity provider, you return to a cancelled-login message with a link to try sign in again. Start over from Login on the community site.
Sign in when SSO is optional
Other communities keep a Bevy email and password form and also show SSO or social buttons (often with or between them).
- On the community site, select Log In.
- On the Login page, select the SSO or social button for your provider (for example your company name, Google, or another label your community shows).
- Complete sign-in at the provider, then return to the community.
If you prefer email and password and the form is still visible, enter your Email address and Password, then select Log in. For creating a Bevy password account when the community allows it, see Create a new account.
Note: Some communities hide the Bevy email and password form and show only SSO or social buttons. In that case, use the provider button every time — there is no Bevy password path on Login.
First time with SSO
What happens the first time depends on how your community configured SSO:
- Already have a Bevy account with the same email — many communities link SSO to that existing account automatically. You continue with the same membership and history.
- No matching account yet — Bevy may create your account from the provider details, or ask you to finish a short sign-up form (usually without setting a Bevy password).
- Prospective user — if an organizer already added your email (for example as an event attendee) but you never completed sign-up, signing in with SSO using that same email can activate the account. See About prospective users.
After the first successful SSO sign-in, use the same SSO path the next time. Switching to a different email or provider can create a different account.
Passwords when you use SSO
SSO credentials live with your identity provider, not as a Bevy community password.
- If you forgot your company or provider password, reset it with that provider’s forgotten-password or IT help process — not with Bevy Reset password.
- On communities that require SSO, Change password is usually not available in Bevy account settings. Update the password at the provider instead.
- Use Bevy Reset a password only when you sign in with a Bevy email and password on a community that still offers that option.
Important: Bevy’s Reset password flow does not change your SSO or social-provider password. If your community requires SSO, resetting a Bevy password will not get you into the site. Sign in through SSO, and ask your IT or community admin if the provider login fails.
If sign-in fails
- Confirm you are on the correct community site and using the email your organization expects for SSO.
- Try the SSO or social button again from Login (or reopen Login if the community redirects automatically).
- If the provider shows an error, resolve it there (expired password, MFA, or access not granted for this app).
- If Bevy shows a social network log-in failure message, select Please try logging in again and restart from Login.
- If you are not sure whether you already have an account, see Why can't I log in?.
