Grow the site-wide list that global emails use. Members opt in on sign-up or Profile Updates. Organizers can subscribe new chapter imports. Review status in Report Center.
Before you start
The global email subscription list is the site-wide list for HQ newsletters. It is not a chapter General list. Global emails skip people who unsubscribed from this list. To send those emails, see Global Emails. That article will be retitled Send a global email.
Members choose whether to stay on the list. You cannot change one person’s status from Admin Dashboard Emails. The paths below are how people join or leave.
Do not look for this list under Admin Emails. Open, download, or schedule it from Report Center as Global email subscriptions.
How people join the list
| How they join | Who does it | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Bevy sign-up form | New members, if the checkbox is shown | Default copy is Receive global community updates. Your community can change that text. |
| Profile Updates | Signed-in members | The toggle sits under Global newsletters. The visible label is often Global, and your community can change it. |
| Chapter member import | Chapter organizers with import permission | Optional checkbox: Subscribe new members to the global newsletter. Consent is required. |
| Support CSV upload | Bevy Support, one time | There is no in-product importer for the global list. Every address must have consent. |
Checkbox and heading text can differ by community. Do not treat Receive global community updates or Global as the only live labels.
Offer the sign-up checkbox
On the Bevy sign-up form, new members can opt in. The same checkbox can appear on event ticket purchase when that setting is on. SSO or a custom form does not show it.
- In the Admin Dashboard, open Settings → General → Privacy.
- Turn on Show global community updates checkbox in account creation.
- Optionally edit Join global newsletter text. The default is Receive global community updates.
If members never see the checkbox, confirm that setting. Contact Bevy Support if it should be on and is still hidden.
Let members manage preferences
Signed-in members manage the list on their profile:
- Open the profile menu, then open Profile.
- Open the Updates tab.
- Find the Global newsletters heading. Turn the toggle on or off.
- Click Save updates.
You can promote that page with a Page Builder button to /accounts/profile/#updates.
For the member-facing steps, see Unsubscribe from a newsletter.
Subscribe new members during a chapter import
Chapter organizers can add people to the global list when they import a CSV from the chapter Members list. This is not the Support global-list upload. See Chapter Members.
- In the chapter dashboard, open Members.
- Click Add / import members.
- Upload a CSV with Email, First Name, Last Name.
- Select These users consent to their signup and agree to the terms and conditions.
- Optionally select Subscribe new members to the global newsletter.
- Enter How did they consent? and click Submit.
Import only addresses that consented. Checking the global-newsletter box subscribes new members on that import. It does not replace the Report Center view of the list.
Request a one-time CSV upload
There is no Admin importer for the global list. For a migration, open a Support ticket and ask for a Global Email list upload. Attach a CSV of email addresses. Confirm every address consented to global mail.
Do not send Support a file unless you have consent for each address. Uploading without consent can violate privacy rules such as GDPR and CCPA.
Review subscriptions in Report Center
HQ reviews who is subscribed or unsubscribed in Report Center. Search for Global email subscriptions. That marketing report includes subscribe and unsubscribe dates and email subscription status.
For filters and columns, see Reports in available in Report Center. To open, filter, download, or schedule the report, see Use Report Center.
How people leave the list
Members can:
- Turn the toggle off on Profile Updates, then click Save updates.
- Click the unsubscribe link in a global newsletter. Global sends include that link.
Unsubscribing from this list stops HQ global emails. It does not unsubscribe the member from a chapter newsletter. Chapter lists use a different suppression list. See Send a chapter newsletter and Unsubscribe from a newsletter.
