Learn how to create a virtual conference event and build its agenda with stages, sessions, booths, and networking in the Chapter Dashboard.
This article outlines how to create an event and related agenda for Bevy Virtual Conference. See Create and configure events for non-conference events.
Create the event
To create a virtual conference event:
- In the Legacy Chapter Dashboard, click Events in the left sidebar.
- Click New Event and choose Virtual Conference. The event types available to you are set by your administrator.
- Complete the General Information tab. The sections below describe each part of this tab.
- Add People roles, such as speakers, hosts, and moderators. Learn more about speaker profiles.
- Add Sponsors & Partners. Learn more about sponsors and partners. Depending on your community’s settings, this tab may appear as Sponsors or as Partners.
- Add Tickets. Learn more about tickets. If your community uses RSVPs instead of tickets, this tab appears as RSVPs.
- Click Save Draft, then Preview your event before you publish it.
Title and Description
When you fill out the event title and description:
- Drag and drop photos into the event description.
- Select any text in the description to style it. Styling options, such as bold and italic, appear after you make a selection.
- Optionally, apply tags for analytics purposes. Tags must be enabled by your administrator.
- Optionally, hide the event to keep it off the Chapter page and prevent emails to members.
Schedule
Enter the date and time your conference begins and the date and time it ends.
Location
For a hybrid or in-person event, enter the physical location where the event takes place. As you type, the location field suggests addresses validated with Google Maps. If you need to add more details, use the location details fields. In this section, you can also choose to show or hide the location on the event page.
Virtual event platform
Conference event types automatically use the Bevy Virtual platform. You do not need to select a platform.
Event Tracking
Enter the Facebook Pixel ID if your team uses one to track the event.
Build the agenda
After you save the event, you can build your agenda with four building blocks:
- Stage—The main broadcast area where keynotes and headline talks take place.
- Sessions—Live or recorded segments for breakout content.
- Booths—Dedicated spaces where sponsors and partners connect with attendees.
- Networking—Small-group tables where attendees meet each other.
Each agenda item provides unique content and interactivity options within the entire conference experience.
Make sure to save the agenda at each step. Build in breaks between segments on the stage.
How does the appear on my conference event page?
Here's an example from a customer event. The public facing Conference agenda will be based on what you add in the builder above for Stage and Sessions.
