This article outlines the difference between hosts vs. moderators in new Bevy Virtual Events.
All Chapter Team members automatically join virtual events as hosts. The moderator, essentially a host with moderation tools, oversees presentations, chats, sessions, Q&A, and other attendee features. Attendees can only be promoted to Moderators. Moderators can't access the Chapter or the Admin Dashboard like hosts.
Feature Differences
Features | Hosts | Moderators |
---|---|---|
Manage Chat | ✅ | ✅ |
Block/Ban attendees | ✅ | ✅ |
Manage Q&A | ✅ | ✅ |
Manage Presenter mode | ✅ | ✅ |
Manage other attendees | ✅ | ✅ |
Manage Breakout Rooms | ✅ | ✅ |
Access Chapter Dashboard or Admin Dashboard | ✅ | ⛔️ |
The only way to promote attendees as hosts/moderators is to add them as a team member to the Chapter or give them Admin Dashboard access by making them HQ Admin.
