This article outlines the difference between hosts vs. moderators in Bevy Virtual Meetup
All chapter team members automatically join virtual events as hosts.
The moderator, essentially a host with moderation tools, oversees presentations, chats, sessions,Q&A, and other attendee features.
Attendees can only be promoted to moderators.
Unlike hosts, moderators can't access either the chapter or admin dashboard.
Feature Differences
| Features | Hosts | Moderators |
|---|---|---|
| Manage Chat | ✅ | ✅ |
| Block/Ban attendees | ✅ | ✅ |
| Manage Q&A | ✅ | ✅ |
| Manage Presenter mode | ✅ | ✅ |
| Manage other attendees | ✅ | ✅ |
| Manage Breakout Rooms | ✅ | ✅ |
| Access Chapter Dashboard or Admin Dashboard | ✅ | ⛔️ |
The only way to promote attendees as hosts/moderators is to add them as a team member to the chapter or give them admin dashboard access by making them HQ Admin.
