Create and order Local Sponsor Tiers on each event type so organizers can place chapter sponsors on the Event Dashboard Sponsors page and show them in the event page Sponsors component.
Local Sponsor Tiers define the named groups organizers use on the Event Dashboard Sponsors page. You configure tiers once per event type in the Admin Dashboard. Without tiers on an event type, organizers cannot place chapter sponsors on that event’s Sponsors page.
Note: The Local Sponsor Tiers section appears on an event type only when sponsors are enabled for your community (Enable sponsors). Global sponsors are managed separately and do not use these tiers. See Manage global sponsors.
Why sponsor tiers matter
Tiers connect three surfaces:
- Admin Event Types — you create and order Local Sponsor Tiers.
- Event Dashboard Sponsors — organizers add chapter sponsors into those tiers.
- Event page Sponsors component — local sponsors appear in the page builder Sponsors component (alongside global and partner groups when those are used).
| Concept | What it means |
|---|---|
| Local Sponsor Tiers | Named groups on an event type (for example Gold or Silver). They appear as accordions on the Event Dashboard Sponsors page for events of that type |
| Event type | The template organizers choose when creating an event. Tier lists are configured per event type, not per individual event |
| Local sponsors | Chapter sponsors placed on those tiers for a specific event. Separate from global sponsors and from partners |
| Partners | Managed on a separate Event Dashboard Partners page. Partners do not use Local Sponsor Tiers |
| Event type state | What organizers see |
|---|---|
| One or more Local Sponsor Tiers | Event Dashboard Sponsors shows an accordion per tier, each with Add Sponsor |
| No Local Sponsor Tiers | Sponsors page shows: No sponsor tiers are configured for this event type. Organizers cannot add tiered local sponsors until you add tiers |
Warning: Changing tiers on an event type affects every event that uses that type. Add, rename, reorder, or remove tiers carefully when live events already have sponsors placed.
Open Local Sponsor Tiers for an event type
- In the Admin Dashboard left sidebar, select Settings.
- Open the Event Types tab.
- Select the event type to edit, or create a new event type (see Configure event types).
- Open the Local Sponsor Tiers accordion.
Add sponsor tiers
- In Local Sponsor Tiers, select Add Tier.
- Enter a tier name in the title field (placeholder examples include Gold and Silver). The title is required.
- Repeat Add Tier for each group you want organizers to use.
- Save the event type (use the event type save / publish control for your community).
If the list is empty, the UI shows: There are no sponsor tiers. Click "Add Tier" to create a new one.
Tip: Use clear names that match your sponsorship packages. Organizers see these titles as accordion labels on the Event Dashboard Sponsors page.
Reorder sponsor tiers
- In Local Sponsor Tiers, drag a tier by its handle to change the order.
- Save the event type.
The order you set here is the order organizers see on the Event Dashboard Sponsors page and the order used when local sponsors are grouped on the event page.
Rename or remove a sponsor tier
- To rename, edit the tier title in place, then save the event type.
- To remove a tier, use the remove control on that tier row so it is no longer in the list, then save the event type.
After you remove a tier, events of that type no longer show that accordion on Sponsors. If the event type has no tiers left, organizers see the empty-state message and cannot add tiered local sponsors until you add tiers again.
Warning: Removing a tier from the event type hides that tier from the Event Dashboard for events of that type. Review live events before you remove tiers that already have sponsors assigned.
What organizers do next
After tiers exist on the event type:
- Organizers open the event in the Event Dashboard and select Sponsors.
- They add chapter sponsors to each tier (search existing chapter profiles or create new ones).
- They save the event so placements publish with the event.
For those steps, see Add sponsors and partners to an event. Chapter sponsor profiles are managed separately—see Manage sponsors and partners.
