Control whether each forum post type shows a body preview on its feed card, so your community can keep a compact, title-only layout or give readers a short excerpt before they open a post.

Forum feeds list posts as cards. By default, Discussion and Blog cards show a short body preview, while Question and Idea cards stay compact and show only the title. As an HQ admin, you can turn the preview text on or off for each post type, so your feed looks the way your community prefers.

These settings control the feed cards only. They do not change the Edit metadata panel that sets the title, descriptions, and image used for search, social sharing, and Featured Content.

Choose preview text for each post type

To set the preview text for each post type:

1. In your HQ admin dashboard, go to Settings > General.
2. Open the Discussions section.
3. Select or clear the checkbox for each post type you want to change.

For example, to show a preview on compact cards, select Show preview text on Question cards and Show preview text on Idea cards, and leave the other post types as they are.

Save and check your changes

To apply and confirm your changes:

1. Save your settings in the dashboard.
2. Wait a few minutes for the change to appear.
   Forum feed pages store these settings for up to about 10 minutes.
3. Open a forum feed page and do a hard refresh to see the updated cards.
