Enable Bevy’s five prebuilt Embed It widgets—X, Instagram, YouTube playlist, Facebook, and Spotify—set their variables, and choose which chapter pages they appear on.
Note: Prebuilt widgets are included with Embed It. If you do not see Widgets under Page builder, contact your customer success manager. Custom widgets are a separate paid feature—see Create a custom Embed It widget.
Note: On communities that block third-party embeds until cookie consent, each prebuilt Embed It widget waits for the visitor to accept cookies before it loads. Until then, visitors see a placeholder with a button to open cookie settings. After they accept, the widget loads without a page refresh. This only applies where a cookie-consent banner (and embed blocking) is enabled — elsewhere, prebuilt widgets load as usual.
Known limitation: The X (formerly Twitter) prebuilt widget uses X’s own timeline embed. Depending on the viewer’s X login state, cookies, and third-party tracking settings, the timeline may be incomplete, empty, or stale. Bevy injects X’s embed snippet and cannot fix that behavior. Allowing third-party cookies for X, or viewing while signed into X, can change what appears for a given visitor. This is separate from Bevy’s cookie-consent placeholder on gated communities — that placeholder appears until the visitor accepts cookies for the community banner, then the X embed loads (and may still show X’s own incomplete timeline).
What prebuilt widgets are
Prebuilt widgets are the five social embeds Bevy supplies for chapter pages: X, Instagram, YouTube playlist, Facebook, and Spotify. Each shows a star badge on the widget icon. Admins can enable them, set default variable values, and choose page availability. Admins cannot change the embed code, rename the widget, or delete it.

Open the Widgets tab
- Open the Admin Dashboard.
- Select Page builder.
- Select the Widgets tab.
The path is Admin Dashboard → Page builder → Widgets. Each prebuilt widget lists Available on with a Chapter chip when enabled, or a Disabled chip when it is not enabled on any page type.
Set up a prebuilt widget
- Select Setup (if the widget is disabled) or Edit (if it is already enabled). Both open the same modal.
- Enter the variable value for that widget (see the table below).
- Under Available on, select Chapter to enable it on chapter pages, or Disabled.
- Review the preview at the bottom of the modal.
- Select Save.
Tip: After you enable a widget, chapter organizers can override the default variable value for their chapter under Settings → Page widgets. See Add and manage page widgets.
Note: The embed code for prebuilt widgets cannot be viewed or modified.
Variables for each widget
Each prebuilt widget has one variable. Admins set the community default in the Setup or Edit modal. Organizers can override that value per chapter.

If a value is missing or incorrect, the third-party embed usually fails to load or shows an empty frame. Bevy does not validate third-party IDs or handles before save.
Add prebuilt widgets to chapter pages
After you enable and configure prebuilt widgets on the Widgets tab, they are available to place on chapter pages in the chapter page builder canvas.

Disable a prebuilt widget
- Select Edit on the widget.
- Under Available on, select Disabled.
- Select Save.
A disabled widget no longer loads on chapter pages. If it is already placed on a canvas, the page builder editor reports that the widget has been deleted or disabled and will not display anything. Disabling does not remove the prebuilt widget from the Widgets list.
