Share a link that opens the events list already filtered by tag, instead of a single event. Add the tag to the Upcoming events address, or choose the tags and select Share.
Which events list you have
Two lists can filter by event tag. Check the address, or look for Share.
-
Upcoming events page. The address contains
/events/#/list. You add the tag name yourself. -
A page with Share. Use Share. The copied address uses tag numbers, such as
?tags=5,9. A tag name in that address is ignored.
Share appears only after an admin turns on Sync Filters to URL for that events block. Leave the setting off when the block sits inside another page.
Build a link on the Upcoming events page
- Open the Upcoming events page.
- Set the address so it ends with
/events/#/list?tags=and then the tag name.- One tag:
https://events.yourcommunity.com/events/#/list?tags=Engagement - A name with a space. Replace each space with
%20:https://events.yourcommunity.com/events/#/list?tags=Leadership%20Development
- One tag:
- For more than one tag, separate the names with a comma.
https://events.yourcommunity.com/events/#/list?tags=Engagement,Leadership%20Development - Copy the address and send it.
By default, the list includes an event that has any of the tags. An admin can require every tag. In the style editor, open Functionality, then Upcoming Events Page, and use Apply tags filter as "OR" condition. That switch starts on.
A link with tags lists matching events from anywhere, not only near the person who opens it.
Share a filtered list from a page with Share
- Open the events list.
- Choose the tags in the filter.
- Select Share. The address is copied. The confirmation says Link copied to clipboard.
The address looks like https://events.yourcommunity.com/events/?tags=5,9. The numbers are tag IDs. The list includes an event that has any of those tags.
Tag names in the link
Copy the name as it appears on the event, including spaces. Capitalization does not have to match. If you remove a space, the link will not match that tag.
A tag name cannot contain a comma, because the comma separates tags in the address. It also cannot contain <, >, or a double quote. Other marks are allowed, including &, ., and !.
To change a name, an admin opens Settings, then Tags. Replace a comma before you use that tag in a link. For example, change Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion to Diversity; Equity; and Inclusion.
Tags appear on the event page. You can copy a name from there. See Configure event tags.
If event tags are turned off, the Upcoming events page has no tag filter, and Settings has no Tags item.
