Event type settings
General
Event Type Name
Choose a descriptive name for your event, such as "Panel Discussion," "Workshop," "Conference," or "Roundtable."
Require URL to publish event
Toggle this setting to require a URL in the "Virtual event URL" field for virtual or hybrid events not using Bevy Virtual. If unchecked, events can be published even if the "Virtual event URL" field is empty.
Allow multiday events
Events configured with this setting can span multiple days. If cleared, events are restricted to a single day.
Enable conference agenda
This option changes a Bevy virtual event into a conference event, enabling a conference agenda for stage, session, networking table, and booth configuration.
Allow recurring events
Enable users to set up recurring events with adjustable frequencies. Bevy will then automatically create these events. This feature is perfect for regular monthly meetings but not suitable for conferences.
To be displayed in chapters
By default, this event type is visible to all chapters, allowing chapter leaders to select it when creating an event. Alternatively, you can limit its visibility to specific chapters. To do this, select Shows on specific chapters and use the search field to find and choose the desired chapters.
Once a chapter has been given access to an event type, that access cannot be revoked. Also, you cannot restrict an event type once it has been used by a chapter. You must add the chapters that have the event type in use to the list of specific chapters.
People
Refers to the people who are part of the event but are not the chapter team. There are five presets to choose from. To enable event people, set the maximum number greater than 0. If both the maximum and minimum number is left at 0, the people will not appear as an option during event creation.
The presets can be renamed. Please contact your Customer Success Manager or Bevy Support if you would like to change these. The number of options cannot be changed.
When the event type has a Minimum greater than 0, that person is required when a new event is created with this type.
Startups
Similar to the People section, you can opt to include a minimum and maximum for Startups. If the fields are left at 0, Startups will not appear as an option during event creation.
Local sponsor tiers
If you plan to have sponsors for this event type, you can add their tier names. You have the flexibility to choose any names you prefer for these tiers.
After a tier has been added, organizers can add sponsors in the same manner as partners. If no tier is added to the event type, the Local Sponsor field will not be accessible to Chapter Organizers within the Dashboard's Event Configuration.
Tickets
Choose your preferred ticketing option.
- Bevy Ticketing: Use tickets, which can be free or paid, or RSVPs. RSVPs are just registrations, and cannot have a monetary value attached to them.
- External Ticketing: Use an external URL in the event creation.
- Allow guest registration:Attendees can register without creating an account by providing their name and email address. Guest registration is applied to virtual and in-person events when enabled. To learn more about how virtual event guest registration works: New RSVP Flow .
Contact your Customer Success Manager or Bevy Support if you would like to disable guest registration for paid tickets.
Default Image
The event banner and thumbnail will serve as the default if Event Banner or Event Thumbnail is selected in the Page Builder Layout menu. Chapter organizers are allowed to upload a different image when the Page Builder layout menu is set to Custom image for both image types. Learn more about Page Builder: Page Builder.
Delete an event type
To remove the event type, you need to click on the X close to the name:
Existing events with the associated deleted type will still be associated with the deleted type, not moved to another type. Please be aware that you cannot change events from one type to another.
The deletion of an event type is deemed safe as it is not a permanent deletion, but rather a soft deletion.
