A private chapter page can stay public. Only added members can take part in its discussions and events. People who are not members do not see those events, and they cannot open the discussions.
Private limits who can take part. People can still open the chapter page and read the title and description. To turn Private on, see Chapter Access and Status.
Important: After you save, Private stays on. A private chapter cannot be made public from Overview. Contact Bevy Support if the chapter needs to be public again. If you are not ready for that, use Hidden instead. Hidden is in Chapter Access and Status.
Note: If Private is not listed under Access, your community does not offer private chapters.
Add the people who can take part
People who are not members cannot join a private chapter on their own. Saving with Private on sets Membership to Invite Only, unless the chapter already requires an application.
- Open the chapter in the Chapter Dashboard and select Members.
- Select Add chapter member, or select Import CSV.
The form and the file are in Chapter Members. Add chapter member and Import CSV appear only when your role can add members.

Show a block only to members
The discussions list is already empty for people who are not members. Use a display rule when another block on the chapter page should appear only for members.
- Open the chapter page in Page Builder.
- Select the container.
- Select the Chapter member display rule.
That rule shows the container to current chapter members.
