Hosts and moderators can record Bevy Virtual Conference stage broadcasts, backstage sessions, and off-stage rooms, then download the files from the Recordings tab after the event.
Hosts and moderators can record a Bevy Virtual Conference in three ways: when you broadcast to the stage, when you use Record in backstage, and when you use Record in an off-stage session or networking room. After processing finishes, download files from the Recordings tab in the Event Dashboard.
Record on stage (broadcast)
When you start broadcasting to the stage, Bevy records the stage automatically. Recording stops when you stop broadcasting.
Each broadcast creates a file under Stage video recordings on the Recordings tab. If you start and stop broadcasting more than once, you can end up with multiple stage files. Use the time stamps to tell them apart.
Record the backstage
Backstage has a Record control that records the backstage room whether or not you are broadcasting.
Backstage recordings appear under Session video recordings on the Recordings tab.
Note: If you broadcast and also select Record in backstage, you get two recordings: a stage/broadcast file under Stage video recordings and a backstage file under Session video recordings.
Record a session off stage
Only hosts and moderators can record. To record a live session or networking room:
- Join the event as a host, or be promoted to host or moderator after you join.
- Select Record at the bottom of the screen, then confirm.
- Wait until the Recording indicator appears. All attendees see the indicator while the room is being recorded.
- When you are finished, select Stop recording.
You can record more than one clip in the same room. Each time you stop, that clip is saved. Select Record again to start a new one. Off-stage recordings appear under Session video recordings.
Tip: If you were promoted during the event and Record is unavailable, refresh your browser so Bevy can issue a new token that allows recording.
Recording layout
Recordings use an active-speaker layout: the current speaker appears in a large pane, with other participants as thumbnails. This keeps the speaker easy to see while still showing who else is in the room.
Download a recording
After the event, download conference recordings from the Recordings tab in the Event Dashboard (not Wrap up).
- From the chapter dashboard, select Events in the left sidebar.
- Open the event from the hosting chapter dashboard.
- Select the Recordings tab.
- Under Stage video recordings or Session video recordings, select Download next to the file you want.
Files are MP4 and appear on the Recordings tab once processing finishes. Processing time varies, so check the tab rather than waiting for a delivery email. The Recordings tab is available even before the event is marked completed; files show after processing. Use time stamps (and stage or place titles, when shown) to tell clips apart.
Tip: Download copies of recordings you want to keep. Do not rely on the dashboard as long-term storage.
Note: Recordings is for native Bevy stage and session files. Wrap up is for featured external video links, Slideshare, and photos on a completed event page. For transcripts, summaries, Send to Media Library, raw track backups, and delete, see Manage event recordings.
