We have the need to publish an event recording, but we also need to register which attendees watched it. We'll use a long live event and a custom Page Builder template to keep track of this. These are the steps:
Create the event
First, Go to your chapter's dashboard and create a new event
1. Choose a title for the event
I chose "Webinar recording" and completed all the required fields.
2. Select In-person as Venue
This will require to complete the location data. Use any location, we'll hide this information in the event page.
3. Select event dates
As start date, you can select any date. For the end date, select one in the far future, like 100yrs from now, or when you want to stop publishing this content.
4. Set the RSVPs ticket
I've added one ticket with title "Watch Recording" title and set max quantity to 10000
5. Click on Publish
Modify the Page Builder template for the event
Modify the Page Builder template to have a header, a recording description, a subscribe button and the video.
Please note that this requires specific permissions that are specific to your position. Check with your HQ.
1. In the Event Edit page, Click on "Page Builder"
2. Modify the header, leaving only the minimal information
In the demo, I left only title, short description, chapter, and sharing option.
The RSVPs buttons will be modified in next steps.
3. Add a new container from the side panel
4. Select the new container and click Display
5. Click on "After visitor RSVPs"
6. Drag a Video component, into the created Container
7. Set the External Video link
I choose https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lwtP2HfuBKU, but can be any link supported by Page Builder
8. Create a new Container
9. And set the display rule to "Before visitor RSVPs"
10. Drag the RSVP button from the Header to the new container.
11. Select the button and change the state "View RSVP Option" (Display tab)
12. Change the RSVP text in the button
I used "Subscribe to watch recording" but you can use any text for this CTA.
13. Remove the rest of components in the template that are not required
This is the final template for this demo:
14. Click on Save
Final results
In the event page, the experience for the end user will be to "RSVP" for the long event, but the Page Builder template will show a different content after they RSVP:
