This article explains what to review in your system settings when you're unable to share your screen during a Bevy event.
If you have problems sharing your screen while using Bevy, we recommend checking your system settings to make sure that your browser has permission to share or record your screen.
Usually you grant permissions the first time you share your screen on Bevy, but sometimes updating your computer or browser resets these settings.
The steps are different for every operating system, but we've provided steps for what people use the most to access Bevy.
Check system permissions for macOS
The ability to share your screen on Bevy is controlled by the Screen Recording permissions configured on your computer. To review your system permissions for screen sharing on a Mac:
- On your Mac, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, then click Security & Privacy.
Select Screen Recording.
Select the checkbox next to your browser app to allow it to share your screen.
If the checkbox is already selected, restart your computer, and then try again.- Restart your browser.
Check system permissions on Windows 11
The ability to share your screen on Bevy is controlled by the Screenshots and apps permissions configured on your computer. This permission is generally enabled by default. To review your system permissions for screen sharing on Windows 11:
- Open the Start menu, and then select Settings.
- Open the Privacy & security settings, and then select Screenshots and apps.
- Turn on the Let apps take screenshots of various windows and displays toggle.
If the toggle is already on, restart your computer, and then try again. - Turn on the Let desktop apps take screenshots of various windows and displays toggle.
If the toggle is already on, restart your computer, and then try again. - Restart your browser.
