Feature one published event on your community homepage by setting the Homepage Special Event ID and callout text in Admin Settings, and confirming the Special Event Callout component is on your public homepage layout.
Note: Admin Settings alone are not enough. Your public homepage must include the Special Event Callout SimplePage component (special_event_callout). That component reads Homepage Special Event ID and Homepage Special Event Callout Text. If the component is missing from the homepage layout, the callout does not appear—even when the settings are filled in. Contact your Bevy CSM if you need the widget added.
Before you begin
To call out an event on the homepage, you need:
- HQ admin access to the Admin Dashboard.
- An existing published event in your community (any chapter).
- The Special Event Callout component on your public homepage layout.
Copy the event ID
To get the event ID you want to feature:
- Open the chapter dashboard for the chapter that owns the event.
- Select Events in the left navigation.
- Open the event you want to call out.
- Copy the event ID from the URL in your browser address bar.
The event ID is the string of numbers after /events/ in the dashboard URL. For example, in https://your-community.example/dashboard/sf/events/12345/details, the event ID is 12345.
Set the special event in Admin Settings
- In the Admin Dashboard, select Settings in the left navigation.
- On the General tab, open the Content section.
- In Homepage Special Event ID, enter the event ID you copied.
- In Homepage Special Event Callout Text, enter the text to show above the featured event (for example,
Don't miss this). If you leave the default, the callout text is Special Event. - Select Save Settings.
Tip: You can feature an event from any chapter. Only one special event ID is active at a time—changing the ID replaces the previous featured event.
Confirm the Special Event Callout widget
After you save settings, open your public community homepage and check that the callout appears.
If settings are saved but nothing shows:
- Confirm Homepage Special Event ID is a non-zero numeric ID for a published event.
- Confirm the homepage layout includes the Special Event Callout component (
special_event_callout). Adding or moving that component is typically handled with Bevy—ask your CSM if you are unsure whether it is on your homepage.
Important: Use a published event with a valid numeric ID. If the ID is blank or 0, the Special Event Callout does not render. An unpublished, deleted, or invalid ID will not show a useful callout to public visitors.
When the callout does not appear
