When a community publishes a recording or wrap-up media, watch it from the event page (and sometimes the chapter page). Sign in when the video requires it. If nothing appears, the host may not have published a recording yet.
Communities do not always publish a recording after an event. When they do, you usually watch it on the event page. Some communities also place a video on a chapter page. You do not download session files from the organizer dashboard — that area is for hosts and organizers only.
- Event page media player — an on-demand video the community published for that event (Video on Demand / Media Library).
- Wrap-up media — featured video, slides, or photos the organizers add for a completed event.
- Chapter page media player — an on-demand video the chapter published on its page (when that community uses it).
Note: Seeing a recording during or after a live session is not automatic. Organizers must publish media and place it where members can see it. If your event page has no player or wrap-up media, ask the host or chapter organizers about that community’s recording policy.
Watch a recording on the event page
Start here for most published event recordings.
- Open the event page for the event you attended (or the event whose recording was shared with you).
- Sign in if the page asks you to log in before the video plays.
- Look for a video player on the page:
- On-demand / Media Library player — plays a video the community hosted in Bevy for that event. For most events, published recordings appear after the event ends. On a multi-day Bevy Virtual Conference, organizers may publish a session recording while the conference is still running.
- Wrap-up video — a featured video (often an external link) that appears on the page after the event has ended.
- Select play. If a short survey appears before the video, complete it when required, then continue.
The same event page may also show wrap-up slides or a photo gallery when organizers publish those. Those are separate from the video player.
Tip: If someone shared a direct video link (for example a /media/… URL), open that link while signed in with the account that has access. Access is checked when the video plays — a link alone does not bypass the community’s access rules.
Watch a recording on a chapter page
Some communities publish chapter-owned videos on the chapter page (not only on an event page).
- Open the chapter page for that group.
- Sign in if prompted.
- Look for a media / video player on the page and select play.
If you do not see a player, that chapter may not publish videos on its page, or your account may not meet the access level for the published video.
Access: sign-in, registration, and membership
Each published video has an access level set by organizers. What you need depends on that setting:
| Access level | What you typically need |
|---|---|
| Anyone | No sign-in required. |
| Signed-in users | Sign in with a community account. |
| Private: event attendees | Sign in with the same account that registered for (attended) that event. |
| Private: chapter members and event attendees | Sign in as a member of the hosting chapter, or as an attendee of that event. |
| Private: chapter members | Sign in as a current member of that chapter (chapter-owned videos). |
The player shows different messages depending on whether you are signed out or signed in without permission:
- Please log in to view this content — you are not signed in (or your session expired).
- Select the community sign-in option and sign in with the account that has access.
- Return to the event page, chapter page, or shared /media/… link (refresh if the player still shows the login message).
- Select play again.
- You do not have access to this video (often with Ask the organizer if you need access) — you are signed in, but this account is not in the allowed audience. Work through these checks in order:
- Confirm you are signed in with the same email you used to register for the event or join the chapter. Sign out, then sign in with that account, and open the page again.
- If the recording is limited to event attendees and you never registered, you usually cannot register after the event ends just to unlock the recording. Contact the host or chapter organizers. Exception: on a multi-day Bevy Virtual Conference that is still in progress, registration may still be open — register for the conference, then try the session recording again.
- If the recording is limited to chapter members (or members and attendees) and you are not a member, join the hosting chapter when membership is open, then try again.
- If you still cannot play after using the correct account (and joining the chapter when that applies), contact the host or chapter organizers and ask them to confirm the recording’s access level or grant access.
Important: Use the same email / account you used to register or join. A different signed-in account can show “no access” even if you attended under another address.
When a recording is not available
| What you see | What it usually means |
|---|---|
| No video player or wrap-up media on the event page | The community has not published a member-visible recording (or wrap-up video) for this event yet — or they do not share recordings. |
| Please log in to view this content | Sign in with the account that has access, return to the page or link, then play again. |
| You do not have access to this video / Ask the organizer… | You are signed in, but this account is outside the allowed audience. Switch to the registration/membership account, join the chapter when membership is open, or contact the host. Post-event registration is usually closed (except mid-conference multi-day Bevy Virtual Conference). |
| Survey before play | Complete the required pre-watch survey, then the video can play. |
| Event still in progress; no wrap-up section | Recordings and wrap-up media usually appear after the event ends. On a multi-day Bevy Virtual Conference, organizers may publish a session recording while the conference is still running — check the event page again later in the conference. |
