On a hybrid event, pick one ticket per venue — In-person or Virtual — then save your confirmation and calendar invite. Show up with your ticket for door check-in, or use Join event if you registered for the online seat.
In-person and hybrid events use the same registration path as other Bevy events. Your ticket decides which venue you attend — the physical location or the online session. This page covers what to do after you choose that ticket: confirmation, calendar, day-of check-in, and when Join event appears.
- In-person event — the event page lists a physical venue. You attend at that location.
- Hybrid event — the event offers two venues: a physical location and an online session. You register for one ticket per venue (In-person or Virtual). A hybrid event does not sell a single ticket that unlocks both venues.
- Ticket confirmation — the email Bevy sends after registration. It can include calendar options, venue details, a printable ticket (for In-person), and join details (for Virtual).
Note: Event pages may show a venue chip such as In-person event or Hybrid event. On a hybrid event, ticket options show an In-person or Virtual badge — one ticket for each venue. Communities can customize button labels such as RSVP and My tickets.
Before you start
- Open the event page and check the Where section for the venue name and address when the event is in-person or hybrid.
- On a hybrid event, read each ticket’s description and badge before you register. In-person and Virtual are separate tickets for separate venues.
- Use the same email for registration that you will use to sign in later, so confirmation, calendar, and join links stay with one account.
Tip: There is no “attend both venues” ticket and no post-registration toggle to switch venues. If you need the other path, Un-RSVP when that option is available and register again with the correct ticket — or contact the organizer for paid tickets.
Choose the right ticket
On the event page, select the ticket for the venue you plan to attend, then complete RSVP or checkout the same way you would for any other event.
- In-person — one ticket for the physical venue listed on the event page.
- Virtual — one ticket for the online session. On hybrid events, this is the separate ticket for the online venue.
A hybrid event lists both ticket types so you can choose one venue. Registering for In-person does not include online access, and registering for Virtual does not include door entry at the physical venue.
For step-by-step registration (free or paid), see Register or RSVP for an event (sibling article).
After you register
- Confirm that the event page shows the confirmation state (default title: RSVP confirmed!).
- Open the Ticket Confirmation email Bevy sent to your registration address.
- Add the event to your calendar when the email offers Add to Google, Outlook, iCal, or Yahoo.
- If you registered while signed in, open My tickets from your profile menu to find the event again later.
If you registered with an In-person ticket, select Download ticket from My tickets (or use the ticket download block in the confirmation email when the community includes it). Save or print that PDF before you travel to the venue.
Note: Some communities add a QR code to the ticket email or printable PDF for faster door check-in. If you do not see a QR code, bring the confirmation email or PDF anyway — staff can still check you in from the attendee list.
Day of the event
If you hold an In-person ticket, arrive at the venue with your confirmation email or printable ticket ready. Staff check attendees in at the door. You do not check yourself in from the community site.
- Bring a phone or printout that shows your name and ticket details.
- If your ticket includes a QR code, show it when staff ask to scan it.
- If check-in is slow or your name is missing, ask staff to look up the email address you used to register.
Important: Organizer check-in tools and QR scanners are for staff. Members and attendees do not use those tools to mark themselves present.
Hybrid: Join event vs show up in person
On a hybrid event, your ticket is for one venue only. That badge controls what you can do on the day:
| Ticket badge | Day of the event | What you usually see in My tickets |
|---|---|---|
| In-person | Go to the physical venue. Bring your confirmation email or printable ticket for staff check-in. | Download ticket when a printable ticket is offered. No Join event button. |
| Virtual | Join online when the join window opens. You do not go to the physical venue with this ticket. | Join event when a join link is available. No printable door ticket. |
When Join event is available for a Virtual ticket, it usually appears shortly before the start time (often about 15 minutes early) and stays available until the event ends. Selecting it opens the online session for that registration. For Bevy Virtual Meetup join steps, Magic Links, and session controls, use the virtual join articles linked below — this page does not repeat those deep dives.
Tip for hybrid attendees: One registration equals one venue. An In-person ticket does not open Join event. A Virtual ticket does not provide a printable door ticket. There is no hybrid ticket that grants access to both venues.
