Register or RSVP from an event page for free or paid tickets, optionally join the chapter’s email list during signup, then find your confirmation and ticket afterward.
You can register for most Bevy events from the public event page. Registration — often labeled RSVP — reserves your spot whether the ticket is free or paid. You do not need to join the chapter first to register for an event.
- RSVP / register — complete the event’s ticket flow so you appear on the attendee list.
- Ticket confirmation — the email Bevy sends when your registration or purchase completes.
- My tickets — the profile menu where signed-in members find upcoming registrations.
Note: Button labels can vary by community. Defaults include RSVP, Log in to RSVP, and Log in to purchase ticket. Some communities customize the RSVP button text in Style settings.
Before you start
- Open the event page for the event you want to attend.
- If the community requires a signed-in account, select Log in to RSVP or Log in to purchase ticket, then sign in or create an account.
- If guest registration is enabled for the event type, you can often register with your name and email without signing in first.
Tip: Use the same email address for registration that you will use to sign in later. Ticket confirmations, calendar invites, and Join Magic Links are tied to that registration email.
Register for a free event
Free events use an RSVP or free ticket. On the event page:
- Find the tickets or RSVP section (default heading: RSVP for this event now!).
- Select the free ticket or RSVP option, then select RSVP (or the community’s custom button label).
- If the event asks pre-registration questions, complete the form.
- Optionally select the checkbox to join the chapter and receive its email communications (see below).
- Confirm your registration.
When registration succeeds, the event page shows a confirmation state (default title: RSVP confirmed!) and notes that your confirmation was sent to your email address.
Register for a paid event
Paid tickets follow the same starting path on the event page, then add checkout:
- Select the paid ticket you want.
- Complete any required registration questions.
- Enter payment details and complete checkout.
- Wait for the on-page confirmation and your ticket confirmation email.
| Ticket type | What you do | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Free RSVP or free ticket | Select the ticket, complete any required questions, then confirm | Confirmation on the event page plus a ticket confirmation email |
| Paid ticket | Select the ticket, complete any required questions, then enter payment details and complete checkout | Confirmation after payment succeeds, plus a ticket confirmation email and receipt details from the community’s payment flow |
Note: This article covers paid registration at a high level only. Refunds, receipts, and payment troubleshooting are covered separately. Organizers configure ticket prices and availability in the event dashboard — see Event Ticketing Configuration and Management.
Opt into chapter email during registration
You can register for an event without joining the chapter. During RSVP, many events show an optional checkbox such as:
I agree to join [chapter name] and receive their email communications.
Select the checkbox only if you want chapter membership emails. The checkbox is optional — communities cannot require newsletter signup to complete an RSVP.
You can change email preferences later from your profile (Updates). Ticket confirmations, order confirmations, and refund notices can still arrive even when you turn other chapter updates off.
After you register
- On the event page — you see the confirmation state for your registration. Signed-in users may also see Un-RSVP when canceling is allowed.
- Email — Bevy sends a Ticket Confirmation to the purchaser or registrant email. The message can include event details, calendar options, and (for Bevy Virtual Meetup when Magic Links are enabled) a personal join link.
- My tickets — when signed in, open your profile menu (avatar or name), then select My tickets to see upcoming registrations.
For canceling a registration, calendar updates, and more detail on My tickets, see Manage tickets and Un-RSVP (sibling article).
If the event is full
When a ticket is sold out and a waitlist is enabled, the registration control can change to Join waitlist. Joining the waitlist is not the same as registering — you receive a waitlist confirmation first, and you become registered only after the organizer releases a spot (process varies by ticket type).
For the attendee waitlist path, see Join an event waitlist (sibling article). Organizers: Waitlist Registration.
