Add a chapter list to the signup form so people join those chapters when the account is created. The list stays off until you turn it on.
Turn on the chapter selector
The selector is off until you turn it on. You need access to the Admin Dashboard.
- Open the Admin Dashboard.
- Select Settings.
- Stay on General.
- Open User Accounts.
- Select Let users pick chapters on the signup form.
- Set Minimum chapters to pick on signup. 0 leaves the list optional. A higher number means they must pick that many chapters before the account is created.
- Set Maximum chapters to pick on signup. This is the most chapters one signup can join at once. The starting value is 10. The form never allows more than 25.
- Select Save Settings at the bottom of the page, then confirm.
New signups see the list after you save, including people who create an account with single sign-on. People who already have an account are not joined to a chapter by this setting.
Tip: Leave the minimum at 0 when you want people to create an account without joining a chapter.
Note: If the minimum is higher than the maximum, signup uses the maximum for both. A maximum above 25 is treated as 25. A maximum below 1 is treated as 1.
Important: If the minimum is above 0, at least that many chapters must be in the list. Otherwise people cannot finish signing up.

Which chapters appear
The list only includes chapters someone could join on their own from the chapter page. Choosing a chapter on the form joins it when the account is created, so chapters that need an invite or an application stay off the list.

Titles are listed in alphabetical order. People can join other Open chapters from each chapter page after they have an account. Hidden, inactive, and test chapters are covered in Chapter Access and Status.
What people see on the signup form
The list appears under Time zone. Its label uses your community’s name for a chapter. The help text says they can join more chapters after the account exists.
They open the list and select one or more chapters. Each choice shows as a tag on the field. When at least eight chapters are available, a search box appears at the top of the list.
If they pick fewer than the minimum or more than the maximum, the form asks them to change the selection before the account is created. Single sign-on uses this same form and the same list.
After the account is created
Each selected chapter is joined. Each chapter can send its own welcome email, so someone who picks five chapters may receive five welcome emails after the account confirmation email.
Note: If a chapter is full, or that chapter cannot be joined, the account is still created. That chapter is skipped. The other selected chapters are still joined.
The selector is missing
- Confirm Let users pick chapters on the signup form is selected, then save General again.
- Open the signup page in a private or incognito window and refresh. The list can take a few minutes to appear.
- If Disable Signup is selected, there is no signup form, so there is no chapter list. Clear that checkbox only if you want people to create accounts.
- If the list is still missing, contact Bevy Support.
The list is empty or a chapter is missing
An empty list means no chapter meets the rules above. A chapter you expected is usually private, hidden, inactive, a test chapter, deleted, or its Membership is not Open.
When the minimum is 0, people can still create an account with an empty list. When the minimum is above 0 and the list is empty, they cannot finish signing up until an eligible chapter exists.
