When forum sync is on, a chapter or event and its discussion forum share the same name, description, and image. Updating one updates the other.
Forum sync is controlled by a setting that is off by default. To have it enabled for your community, contact you Bevy Customer Success Manager.
When forum sync is turned on, a chapter or event and its associated discussion forum are kept consistent with each other. If you update the name, description, or image in one of them, the same change is applied to the other automatically.
What stays in sync
Three things are kept the same between a chapter or event and its associated forum:
- Name — the chapter or event title and the forum name match.
- Description — the description text is shared. Any formatting is removed, so the forum shows plain text.
- Image — the chapter or event image and the forum image match.
How the sync works
The sync runs automatically whenever you save a chapter, an event, or a forum. It works in both directions:
- When you edit a chapter or event, its associated forum is updated to match.
- When you edit a forum, the associated chapter or event is updated to match.
