Use Admin Dashboard → Homepage to add slides to a home page slider carousel and to create marketing promos that appear in fixed locations across your community site, login page, chapter leader dashboard, and chapter emails.
Note: Homepage sliders and marketing promos are managed in the Admin Dashboard under Homepage. You need admin access. Sliders control the banner carousel on the community landing page. Marketing promos are separate announcement banners with a fixed Location.
Add a slide to a home page slider
- In the Admin Dashboard, select Homepage in the left sidebar.
- Open the Sliders tab.
- Select a slider in the list to edit it.
- Select Add Slide to create a new banner slide.
- Upload an image and complete the slide fields (see the table below).
- Optional: expand Details to set a subtitle, URL, and whether the link opens in a new window.
- Drag slides to change their order if needed.
- Select Save Carousel.
| Field | Required | Limits and notes |
|---|---|---|
| Image | Yes | 2560 × 650 pixels. JPG or PNG. |
| Title | Yes | Up to 250 characters. |
| Alt text | Yes | Up to 125 characters. Describe the image for accessibility. |
| Subtitle/Paragraph | Yes | Up to 500 characters. Shown under Details. |
| URL | No | Optional. Maximum 200 characters. Shown under Details. |
| Open in new window | No | Optional. Opens the slide URL in a new browser tab when selected. |
Tip: Slide URLs are limited to 200 characters. If your destination URL is longer, shorten it first, then paste the short URL into the slide.
Note: If your community uses the homepage page builder, you can still edit slides here. Place a Carousel widget on the homepage and set it to use a named slider from this screen (for example, a slider named Homepage). Slide content continues to be managed under Admin → Homepage → Sliders.
Add a marketing promo
- In the Admin Dashboard, select Homepage in the left sidebar.
- Open the Marketing tab.
- Select New Promo.
- Enter a Title (required, up to 80 characters).
- Enter a URL (required in the form).
- Choose a Location. The location controls where the promo appears and which fields are available.
- If you chose Public pages, optionally add Body text (10–1000 characters) for more detail.
- If you chose Emails: Bottom, upload a desktop image (1200 × 520 px, JPG or PNG).
- Select Visible when you want the promo to display.
- Select Save Promo.
Marketing promo locations
Use the exact location names shown in the Location dropdown:
| Location (exact name) | Where it appears | Content supported |
|---|---|---|
| Above dashboard | Above the dashboard for chapter leaders and admin users | Title (and URL when provided). Text only—no image upload. |
| Above homepage carousel | Above the home page slider carousel | Title (and URL when provided). Text only—no image upload. |
| Above login form | Above the sign-in / sign-up form on the account page | Title (and URL when provided). Text only—no image upload. |
| Emails: Top | Near the top of chapter emails and newsletters | Title (and URL when provided). Text only—no image upload. |
| Emails: Bottom | Near the bottom of chapter emails and newsletters | JPG or PNG image at 1200 × 520 px. If an image is uploaded, the title is not shown in the email. |
| Public pages | On public pages across your Bevy community (community-wide announcements) | Title, optional body text (10–1000 characters), and URL. Text only—no image upload. |
Tip: Most locations show one promo at a time (the platform’s default spot limit). You can create more than one promo for the same location; only the allowed number of visible promos for that location are shown. Promos in different locations can display at the same time.
Note: For Emails: Bottom, an uploaded image is shown instead of the title. If there is no image, the title displays. Other locations in this list are text-based and do not use an image upload.
Edit or delete a marketing promo
- Open Homepage → Marketing.
- Select a promo in the list to edit it, then Save Promo.
- To remove a promo, use the delete control on the Marketing list and confirm.
