When an event has been hidden and then it's made public, will the automated email send?
If the event is initially published as hidden and the setting "Allow automated emails" is not checked, and the event is re-published as public, Automated emails will populate in email dashboard ready to deploy as long as the trigger window for the email(s) has not passed. Once the trigger window has passed, automated emails will not schedule to send. Group Organizers/Leaders should check with their Community HQ if they have questions about how the timing of automated emails, specifically event reminders, are setup when events are initially published.
If an automated email is scheduled for an event that is co-hosted, will the same email be sent to all collaborating chapters of the co-hosted event?
The host chapter owns all emails related to cohosted event. Collaborating chapters are only able to see who signed up from their co-host chapter event URL. Email metrics in the host chapter do not segment the opens, clicks, and unsubscribes by host or collaborating chapter. Collaborating chapter will not show any emails for the co-hosted event.
I changed the date of my event but the automated email has already been sent. Why isn't the email rescheduled for the new date?
Automated emails that are scheduled to deploy when an event is published is based on the time to Trigger based on the setting that your HQ Community set for the automated emails (typically event reminder emails). When the start date of an event is changed, automated emails schedules may change based on a few factors:
- The time between when the event was published and the initial event start date/time
- The event status (pubic vs. hidden)
- The time between when the event start date/time changed and the schedule for event reminder automated emails.
Automated emails cannot be retriggered by Group Organizers or HQ Admins once they have been sent (deployed).
